Wedding Thank You Poetry Example
Dear Marjorie and Rick,
How do you learn what friendship’s worth?
Who helps, when you’re in need?
Well, Marjorie and Rick proved
They are our friends indeed.
This pair bring so much energy
And fun to what they do!
They even join me in the stands
At football games for Boo.
And if they packed some goodies
To eat while they were there,
They generously bring them out
And offer them to share.
Three months ago, both Stan and I
Wondered if we’d be ready
In time to wed, but these dear friends
Stood by our side, rock-steady.
When Marjorie and Rick wed,
Back in Two Thousand Four,
Her mother was her only help;
She knew what was in store.
Since I was just a little girl,
She has been there for me.
I love her, and I love her child,
Her own sweet Destiny.
The patience Marjorie has shown
Just plain amazes me.
We changed our wedding date, not once,
Not two times, no, but three!
We finally found the perfect place
For me to be Stan’s bride.
(A good thing, too, or Marjorie
Would surely have my hide!)
She’s redone invitations when
The place, time, date were wrong,
And fixed bubbles and flowers, too.
Her patience has been strong.
And Rick -- where do I begin
To thank him for the way
He filled in for his wife, at home,
While she arranged my day?
He even brought us pizza, and
Then got out of the house
So we could get to work there.
He’s such an awesome spouse!
And Trudy, Judy and Norma
Threw me a bridal shower,
It made me feel so special --
The princess of the hour!
In fact, the preparations were
A true family affair.
Destiny licked envelopes
While Norma did her share
By helping roll the programs
That Judy created.
Our thanks today to one and all
Cannot be overstated.
As Stan and I embark upon
Our brand-new life together,
These guardian angel friends we thank.
We’ll love you all forever!
