Wedding Poem Example

Dear Abby,

Lovely Abby Taylor,
Oh, we go way back.
Met her when we were six,
Good times we'd never lack.

Abby was a tomboy then,
And we had so much fun.
Capped off every year,
Under the Hawaiian sun.

Her folks would always take us there,
And Abby with skin so white,
One year she fried right through,
Called her "Crispy," what a sight!

She grew into a beauty,
Red hair, freckles and blue eyes.
And best of all, her beauty is deep,
She really is a prize.

Down to earth in every way,
A nature lover, true.
Always sweet and giving,
Not a thing she wouldn't do.

Her sense of humor's priceless,
Her energy strong and bright.
She'll laugh with you, cry with you,
Her world is always alright.

We lived in Santa Monica,
The "House of Wine and Spirits" was ours.
We shopped, we jogged, we partied,
We laughed through all the hours.

Then it finally happened,
We reached a crossroads day.
Abby said she had enough
Of that old LA.

Wound up going north,
LA's loss, Seattle's gain.
I cried the day she told me,
Losing Abby caused such pain.

All went well in Seattle,
From the very start.
Then, at a Halloween party,
She felt a joy right to her heart.

That's where she saw Steve,
And what a gorgeous pair.
The west coast babe meets east coast guy,
Truly- extraordinaire.

They talked all night, hit it off,
The rest is history, they say.
Abby and Steve find lots of joy,
Every single day.

Snowboarding and jogging, yes,
White Fish, Montana, dining out.
So many things they share,
Laughter and fun, no doubt.

He loves her gregarious nature,
His serenity serves her well.
They're poetry in motion,
And all is really swell.

My husband, George, and I,
Abby and Al, for sure,
Times to come, together,
It will be fun-galore.

So Abby, dearest friend,
And Al, twin stars from above,
All my wishes and hopes and dreams,
For a life of pure, sweet love.

Love,

Janet
