A Wedding Poem Example
Dear Nora and Danny,
Today we'd like to celebrate
A couple close to us
In whose impending union
We truly know that we can trust.
It all began in Glendalough,
In the summer of 2003.
On that first night, Danny knew he'd found
A woman of quality.
She was lovely, fit, and kind,
Her humor quick and dry,
And when he learned she liked to farm,
He knew he had to try.
And Nora, bless her, she could see
Beyond the lack of hair,
Danny's sense of fun and witty charm
Soon proved beyond compare.
They grew together, hiked outdoors,
Perused the car boot sales,
Soon starting making future plans
With all that those entail.
And that, of course, meant it was time
To meet the families.
When we met Nora, we understood
Danny's new vitality.
She balanced him with thoughtfulness,
Her sense of peace and calm,
When he showed off his fiery side
Her love was like a balm.
The Abernethy family welcomed Danny
Into their home as well,
On Christmas he waits with the rest,
Though he threatens to rebel.
Both Danny and Nora love to eat
Mary and Eileen's meals,
As long as Danny has his dessert
And CHEF sauce with the deal!
Through all of this, we knew that Danny
Had found someone worthwhile.
Nora seemed a miracle,
She's even brought him some style,
It's not just that, she's also got
Him trained around the house,
It seems that all these years, all Danny
Has needed was a spouse!
However, we all know what Nora's
Real challenge will be,
Because she tolerates his towels,
Their love is guaranteed.
So when our Danny asked her hand
One special Christmas season,
Nora answered with his gift:
A "yes," with quite good reason.
Tonight my friends, we're honored to
Keep with an old tradition,
And happily, officially,
Welcome our family's new addition.
Danny and Nora, we hope you find
A life full of success,
On every path you choose to take,
We wish you the very best.
