What does it take to shape a man?
His family and friends
Are guiding lights along the path.
Their influence never ends.
And so I’d like to thank the folks
Who’ve helped me come this far.
I’ll live my life to make them proud,
And here is who they are:
Without my mom, I couldn’t reach
This Eagle Court of Honor.
Straight from the heart, I now bestow
My gratitude upon her.
My dad’s my hero, always there
To help, support and guide me.
He puts me first and helps me see
The strength I have inside me.
With Margie Reno there to sew
Each merit badge I earned,
I saw the children she’d adopt
And so compassion learned.
Mark Behler at Wenatchee makes me
Proud to be a Scout.
I took part when his dad’s memorial
Color guard marched out.
Phil Piepel’s an exhorter, and
He wisely counseled me
To kiss my mom in my Arrow
Of Light Ceremony.
The Apple Valley District has
Been blessed by Angie’s aid.
She keeps all of our records straight.
With her, we’ve got it made.
Len Anderson, my Scoutmaster,
Inspires me to strive.
He guides us toward our Eagle rank
And keeps our troop alive.
Mister Van Doren was my first
Scoutmaster in Troop 8.
He and his wife have nurtured me,
And I think they’re both great.
Ken Kneppert, thanks for serving on
My Eagle Board of Review.
You kept me faithful to myself,
And I look up to you.
My grandpa was an Eagle Scout.
I’m proud to be another.
I dedicate this accomplishment
To my beloved grandmother.
Elijah is my brother. He’s
A warrior of prayer.
I thank God that he’s close to me.
I’ll always keep him there.
My counselors number twenty-nine,
Plus those I';ve had at camp.
With fifty badges earned, it';s clear
Each one has left their stamp.
I thank my Eagle Project Team --
My dear church family.
When others failed, you all stepped up.
Christ';s love you';ve shown for me.
A man who';s after God';s own heart,
Randy Gonzales shines.
Respecting me, he shows me how
True faith and love entwines.
These are my constellations,
The stars that I steer by.
With all my heart, I thank them
As I spread my wings to fly.
