Mother to Groom Wedding Poem - An Example

Thank you all for coming
On this day of joy and fun.
Our children Leslie and David
Are now forever one.

You've come from near and far,
Dear family, cherished friends.
A marriage true from heaven
With warmth that never ends.

I'd like to say a word or two
About this lovely pair.
And as the mother of the bride
I'm walking, yes, on air.

Because these two, this couple
Of boundless sun and light,
Are indeed made for each other,
This is something oh so right.

I want to share some thoughts
About this groom, about this bride.
A tale of how I'm just so sure
They'll always hit their stride.

Their love for one another
Is tender and it's true.
They're helpful, kind, dependable,
Family-oriented, too.

I'm thinking of my Leslie,
And the heart she showed, it's clear,
All she meant to her loving father
During his last emotion-filled year.

How we miss him on this day,
How happy he would be,
To see his daughter beaming…
His joy was Leslie.

And David, such a gifted man,
Hard-working and with great soul.
So determined in many ways,
He'll always achieve his goals.

Collecting Masters degrees
And reading all his books.
Adorable, too, as you can see,
And this dreamboat even cooks!

Leslie, too, has her goals,
Achieves them every time,
With precision that's most admirable
And grace that's like a rhyme.

Oh, yes, these two, I see them
In all their wondrous ways,
With heart and brains and effort
To serve them all their days.

It must have been some kismet,
Some wondrous golden fate,
That brought these 2 together
And melded them, so great.

From worlds apart they came
To a very special place.
Auras of light and happiness
Set to their own time and pace.

Leslie, dearest daughter,
And David, beloved son,
With wishes for ever after
And joy that's never done.

Just know you're both so special
And blessed with feeling that won't sever.
May you live a long, healthy life
That's filled with love forever.

With much love,

Emily
