Maid of Honor Wedding Toast - An Example
Dear Antoinette,
When I was just a child,
Not quite seven yet,
I was blessed with a wondrous gift,
Her name was Antoinette.
A tiny baby sister
Had come into my life,
And today that baby sister
Has become a wife.
So here I stand before you,
To toast the lovely bride
And I hope I can communicate
What I feel inside.
The woman you see before you,
Who was married on this day,
Means more to me than she’ll ever know,
More than words can say.
Even as a child,
Though we didn’t always get along,
She was someone special,
Someone brave and very strong.
I remember Castalgar
And her quest from door to door.
She would find us both new friends,
Of that she was quite sure.
And no one could ever deter her,
No matter what they’d say,
She did things as she wished.
She did things her own way.
Now that I am older,
Having grown wiser with each year,
The realization that she was a gift
Has become quite clear.
There is a special bond
That only siblings understand,
It happens very naturally,
Never forced or even planned.
Nicholous and Seraphina
May not have recognized it yet,
But they will continue to grow closer
The older that they get.
And now that you’ve found Michael
And made your solemn vow,
A little sibling for Jacob
Can’t be far off now!
So despite the constant phone calls,
To which my husband will attest,
Today I have something special to say
Something different from the rest.
Michael, my brand new brother,
We now share a common goal,
To keep her forever happy
Because her laughter makes us whole.
And to you, my baby sister ,
I hope someday you will see
The joy you bring into the world,
The joy you bring to me.
And may the love that surrounds you now
Stay forever in your heart,
Because a wonderful future is ahead of you,
Today is just the start.
Love,
Genevieve
