Maid of Honor Toast Example
As the Maid of Honor at my little sister's wedding,
I have to say that title is indeed accurate. I am SO
honored to be here, with Amy, to share her most
special day. Amy is just an extraordinary person.
She always was, in fact.
She's warmhearted, protective of those she loves and
utterly dependable in every way. We shared a bedroom
when we were little girls, and we shared so much of
life. She and I are what you'd call "birds of a
feather," and that phrase makes me think of Amy and
Billy having kids one of these days.
When Amy was a kid she always thought that babies
were born with feathered hair. Well, maybe it will
be true in her case! I tell you, when she DOES have
kids, those babies will be blessed to have a mother
like her, a mother filled with love.
So many times, Amy and I would talk about our
childhood. How we played "toll man" and ate our
apples and chocolate pudding at grandma's. Those
days were great. And those memories bond my sister
and me forever. All of us, big brother Mel, myself
and Amy, we're all close. We all understand the
value and importance of family.
And speaking of family, while I sometimes get sad
thinking about "losing" my little sister, I also
think joyfully about the brand new brother I'm
getting as part of the deal. Billy is a great guy,
and it warms my heart to see the love for HER that
always shines in his eyes. I see something else in
Billy that's wonderful, too. The way he treats my
kids, and how he relates to them as if they were his
own. It's really special. He's got a wonderful
heart.
They've BOTH, Billy and Amy, got wonderful
hearts-and I couldn't be happier for them. I just
want to add one thing and say that it's great to
have all of you here with us, sharing in the joy of
this day. If one can predict the future as based
upon the present, then I'd say that this marriage,
based upon the feeling that's in this room, is
golden forever.
I ask you all to join me in toasting this special
couple on this unforgettable day. To my sister, Amy,
and to my brother, Billy, a long, happy, love-filled
life and all the good things that come with it.
