Maid of Honor Example Poem

Dear Rosemary,

Rosemary Elizabeth Williams,
AKA, Rosie, for sure.
As cousins go, I sure love her,
Who could ask for more?

Even though I'm 10 years older,
We've always been close as can be.
Now I'm Rosemary's Maid of Honor,
And so proud, as you can see.

I'll never forget her birthday,
How I adored her from the start.
That adorable face and sweet bald head,
Instantly captured my heart.

She was the cutest baby in the world,
A girly girl in pink.
A dream in her charming smocked dresses,
A human baby doll, you'd think.

She couldn't say Danielle at first,
She simply called me "Day."
Our visits to granddaddy's in Perry
Were special in every way.

Playing piano together,
Rocking on the porch, on the swing.
Scarfing Johnson's Bakery donuts,
That was truly our thing.

Once when I was in 5th grade,
We had dress up 50s day.
My mom got me a fake denim skirt,
With a flowy, tacky, lacy way.

When little toddler Rosie,
Discovered that skirt for sure,
She put it on and KEPT it on,
That's all she ever wore.

We always had so much in common,
Like dance and piano, oh my.
We're even sorority sisters,
Of dear old Alpha Delta Pi.

Now she's all grown up,
A beauty inside and out.
Learning the family business,
A success-in-the-making no doubt.

She's always close to family,
Truly a loyal friend.
A woman of amazing energies,
That seem to go on without end.

She's sweet as sweet can be,
Utterly sincere.
The Queen of Gasparilla,
And that was just last year.

This lovely, poised, gracious southern girl,
At long last…she found him.
On a date a friend set up,
Rosemary met her Tim.

They hit it off right away,
Two great kids, from great families, too.
Always have lots of fun
In everything they do.

The Auburn-educated business gal,
And her Tampa attorney, you bet.
Love and joy like this,
Better it just doesn't get.

So Rosemary and Tim, all my best,
In every single way.
To the cousin whom I love so much,
Here's to your wondrous wedding day!

Love,

Danielle
