Graduation Poem - An Example
We're gathered here today my friends,
For a special celebration,
Cos' Brandon here, our precious son,
Has made his graduation.
A quiet boy, with simple tastes,
He' worked his way through school,
He graduated first in class,
Yes, Brandon's no-one's fool.
As you all can plainly see,
I'm being quite poetic,
We're proud today of our young man,
So handsome and athletic.
If you know the movies,
His striking feature's very simple,
Don't you all agree,
He's like Kirk Douglas with his dimple.
Football has been Brandon's sport,
He made it all the way,
And it's his life's ambition,
To coach other kids some day.
He always strove to be the best,
Believe me now or not,
Even as a tiny boy,
He'd tie the fastest knot.
Brandon loves his canine friends,
Of that there's no mistake,
He sadly lost his Daisy,
But at least he now has Drake.
Just like every little kid,
Friendship was his aim,
Of course he had a best pal,
I think "Halan" was his name.
At the tender age of three,
He gave me such a big surprise,
He carried Zachary from his crib,
Well, I could not believe my eyes!!
He loves to do his magic tricks,
Of that there is no doubt,
His sleight of hand's amazing,
David Copperfield look out.
Now Brandon's superstitious,
As is many Mother's son,
He's got his special number,
In his case it's fifty one.
And when it comes to movies,
Scary flicks are Brandon's thing,
Be it something about Zombies,
Or the latest Stephen King.
But he has a sense of humour,
That he keeps there up his sleeve,
He loves to sit and laugh,
At those two halfwits, Doug and Steve.
Perhaps this poem's too much for him,
Embarrassing I fear,
I'm sure he'd love to take his wand,
And make Mom disappear.
But enough of all this nonsense,
There's one last thing I'll shout out loud,
From myself and all the family,
Brandon son, you've done us proud.
Love from the Family
