Good Luck Poem - An Example
Dear Kerrie,
Well, here we are, who would have thought
The final Girls' Night Out.
A night for joy, for smiles and laughs,
And for Kerrie without a doubt.
It's hard to believe it's been nineteen years
Since Kerrie entered my life.
We've seen it all, new jobs, new loves,
Through happiness, change and strife.
We met at work in eighty-seven,
Both following paths of our own,
Which somehow led us to Verizon
Where we were proud to give good phone!
Because of Kerrie, going to work
Was easy, exciting and fun.
I knew my best friend was waiting for me,
With that smile that's second to none.
In those early years, she stood by my side
As confidante, counselor and friend,
She gave me her ear and never ending support,
As well as her hugs to no end.
From raising kids to surviving divorce,
Kerrie's listened, encouraged and cared.
She is kind and thoughtful, honest, too,
She said the things that no one dared.
Then after Verizon, we moved through the ranks,
From Telus straight through to ComTech.
We've been designers, planners, engineers too,
But, customer service…… EWW!!!!
I still think we should use all of our skills
And start up Three Babe's Telecom!
With all of our knowledge, our smarts and our style,
There's no way it could possibly bomb.
Especially if we have Kerrie on board,
With her humor and feisty quick wit.
Since our work parted ways, my job's never been
Quite the same, I have to admit.
But lucky for me, our friendship transcends
Just work and Telecom stuff.
Of all of our laughs and many memories,
I'll never have nearly enough.
But now Kerrie's on to a new kind of fun,
With her Gators, grandbabies and Jay
I'm so happy for her, though I'm already sure
That I'll miss her more and more every day.
Kerrie, your friendship, your motherly way,
Your laugh, your bear hugs, and your heart,
Mean more to me that I can put into words,
I know nothing could tear us apart.
I wish you the best in this new adventure,
A new chapter of fun and of light,
Just know that whenever you come back,
We'll be ready for another Girls' Night.
