Friend Birthday Poem - An Example
Dear Linda,
On this most special occasion,
Amidst the flowers and the birdies.
I welcome you, dear Linda
To your middling flirty thirties.
Oh, Linda, you’re so beautiful,
And lovely to the core.
Thank goodness I’ve got lots of time
‘Cause I need to say much more.
We’ve been friends for, what, a decade?
And in that princely time,
You’ve helped me so to find the muse,
And all the words that rhyme.
Your heart is always out there,
Always in the most right place.
When you’re around, it’s really true,
You brighten all with grace.
I love the cookies that you bake,
Burnt just the way I love.
And those puppy dog brown eyes you have,
!Put you a notch above.
Linda, you’re just fun, you know,
So kind, so thoughtful, sweet.
And the fun when you get loaded is,
I tell you, hard to beat.
‘Course one time we were much closer,
But it’s not about to end.
You’re still my pal of distances,
My true 10 mile max friend.
It’s great that you’re a Mets fan now,
You’re finally playing ball.
I tell you, Linda, you’re the best,
Much better than them all.
You tower in your stature,
Exactly five feet on the nose.
You’re a bloomer in all ways,
A regular prize rose.
And now a flirty thirty,
A sexy, saucy huss.
I know when you go out,
All the guys will make a fuss.
You’re got it all, dear Linda,
The looks, the drive, the smarts.
I tell you and I’m sure of it,
You’re science AND the arts.
‘Course one area where you still fall short,
And it’s really a no brainer,
Is the way you muck it up and laugh
When we’re with our personal trainer.
And how you tend to pick and prod
When ordering your food.
To dine with darling Linda
Can make me one antsy dude.
But these are nits and nats and nuts,
And how I love to pick.
The truth as you well know for sure:
You’re just one awesome chick.
