A Christmas Poem Example
My Darling,
To my darling wife-to-be,
With wishes this Christmas sweet.
How was I lucky enough in life
With you, my dear, to meet?
So lovely you are, and gorgeous,
In every way so fine.
Your sense of humor is dazzling
And so is your taste in wine.
I love the way you take good care
Of spirit, body and mind.
Your yoga practice sets the pace,
Amelia, you are some find!
Most moving of all, your passion.
The way you strongly feel.
With you in my life, it seems to me,
I’ve truly found ideal.
Of course there are some issues,
Sometimes we win, or we lose.
For instance, you hate those spiders.
But I know you love your shoes.
Now you’re a Chicagoan,
You’ve grown to love our state
Camping, snow-tubing – the out-of-doors life
I’m thrilled you find it so great.
Food, alas, is another thing,
Your tastes are still California.
But that’s ok, to each his own –
And in the manner born-ya.
But on many things we don’t differ,
Love of baseball is one.
And so is our sense of humor
And our passion – always – for fun.
Amelia, you have such capacity
For love with your whole sweet heart.
It gives me a sense, a thrill for life,
And from it I will never part.
I’m thrilled as well, I have to say
It leaves me feeling whirls.
The way you love – and are loved by –
My darling daughters, our girls.
Jill and Jan always say
How overjoyed they are,
To have you in their lives,
To bask in the shine of your star.
And that you feel the same
About the girls and me,
It warms my heart to boiling
And sets my spirit free.
