Wedding Thank You to Parents - An Example
Dear Mom,
My wedding is December first,
I'm thrilled and Brett is, too.
But before anything else, my thanks to Mom
For all she'd ever do.
Mom's nature is to love and give,
Her heart boundless in every way.
So Mom, in all my joy,
There are things I've got to say.
You mean the world to me,
And I think you always oughta.
I love by your sweet words,
That "blood is thicker than water."
I'm so glad you found the happiness
That you deserve so well.
You and Dick are a sight to behold,
And your love forever swell.
In our family, you're the heart and soul,
You taught me great things, it's true.
Like "Smile and the world smiles with you,"
And "Work hard, play hard," too.
These expession are your life,
Ones you taught to Jennifer and me.
They helped us just so much,
Made us what we'd be.
Your penchant for the good
Starts, always, with The Lord.
Church each Sunday, yes,
Always in spirit and accord.
You took us on great vacations,
Never holding back.
Dad was busy working,
But fun you'd never lack.
We took that Amtrak train to Florida,
An adventure just so great.
And skiing in the Poconos,
Mom, it was first rate.
You gave us all the things
Your own parents couldn't give to you.
You made it all so special,
Everything you'd ever do.
Our Sea Isle Summer on the shore,
In "the Camden House," such fun.
Days with Aunt Joanie and her kids,
Life was laughter by the ton.
You're the picture of physical fitness,
Adorable and petite.
My triathalon/marathon partner,
Mom, you're just so neat.
You told me I can do anything,
Made me feel assured and proud.
A gorgoues G-Mom, that is you,
The inspiration of any crowd.
You always said "When you start something,
Be sure to finish it," yes.
I'll say to you now with certainty,
Mom, you're the very best.
My marraige-to-be is a wonder,
In my heart I'm really there.
Just know Mom that you, and me and Jennifer
Our bond we'll always share.
You are the best, I know it.
Can't thank you enough for all you've done.
Mom, you make life a joy, for sure,
You're life's brightness, you're the sun.
Love,
Jody
