When it comes to William Shakespeare, there’s a lot that’s known and, it seems, a lot that’s unknown.
We do know this: Shakespeare is regarded by many as the greatest writer in the English language. And we know this: The lad from Statford-upon-the-Avon married Anne Hathaway (not the current starlet) and raised three children. He was an actor and he owned a piece of a playing company. Then he started to write. And write…and write.
Even those who haven’t read his great plays and sonnets know from “Hamlet” and “Macbeth,” “The Merchant of Venice,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and so much more.
Of course we don’t know for sure about Shakespeare’s appearance, sexuality or even whether or not this is the guy who wrote all that swell stuff!
What we do know is that Shakespeare died on April 23, 1616. Thus, this month is an anniversary of sorts.
Had my company, PoemsToGo, been around then, we could have written a swell eulogy for this greatest of bards.
That’s because PoemsToGo is dedicated to serving you with poems, speeches and toasts for any occasion in life — a birth, a birthday, a wedding, an anniversary, a retirement or even the loss of someone special. And best of all, our work stands out because everything we write is an utter original — just for you. That’s because we base it on information that you provide.
As we say around here, “To be or not to be…your finest resource for original poems, speeches and toasts…that’s never in question. Check out samples of real poems, speeches or toasts at PoemsToGo. Or contact me specifically for full details.
And to Will Shakespeare, we wish a hearty rest in peace.
