70th Birthday Toast Example
This is really a special occasion -- because it's
all about a very special lady. You know her as
Anneliese Scherf Bliss. I know her as a wonderful
person -- and a fabulous mother-in-law.
Today, we celebrate Anneliese's 70th birthday and
that's just incredible to me. Incredible because
Anneliese still has all the remarkable energies and
enthusiasm of someone a lot younger. She's amazing
and lovely, stubborn and smart, independent and
gracious, with a killer sense of humor and a love
for that golden nectar called beer.
As a mother, a mother-in-law, and a grandmother, she
is tops. Her family thinks the world of her, to say
the very least.
And do you see how lovely she looks? Well, she's
ALWAYS dressed up, and impeccably, in a complete
outfit, with a brooch pin on her lapel. Her physical
therapist calls her "Miss America," and, in her very
special way, she is.
Yes, Anneliese IS our Miss America, and America's
gain is, I suppose, Germany's loss. She was born
there and it's still very much a part of all that
she loves. On that note, of the old country, it's
wonderful to welcome Anneliese's brother Winfried
and his wife Hilde. We welcome you to America and
we're thrilled that you're here. It means a lot to
all of us. And no one more than Anneliese.
For all that you have accomplished in your life…for
your education, for your career, for your loving
family, for your energies and strength, and for the
ways in which you continue to inspire us, make this
birthday your happiest. And have many more, all of
them in the best of health.
Anneliese, mother, you have our love forever.
Love,
Carole
