Sincerely, Mikki"

Birthday Poem to Mom - an Example
Dear Mom,
We're here today to celebrate
A very special time,
A milestone in a lady's life
Who we all think sublime.
Who is this lady? You may ask,
Here's the answer true:
If I dare tell you her real name,
I just may have to kill you!
She's classy, creative, and she's smart,
Considerate and funny,
She loves her family and her friends,
Of course, this must be Bunni.
Now Bunni wears a lot of hats,
On her head, but also in life.
Like Paralegal, Volunteer,
Or Hostess, Broker, Wife.
A natural leader, she can turn
The hardest heart to gold.
Before you know it, there she is,
And suddenly you're sold!
At Temple she shows off these skills
As Madame President,
Through her excitement and her faith
Her passion's evident.
If nothing's on, she makes it up,
A fundraiser or bash,
Lots of people, not much time?
She'll have it ready in a flash.
The busier, the crazier,
The happier she is,
At planning, cooking, even brides
My Mom is quite the whiz.
As Grandma, too, she takes the cake
As Ryan and Lainie's Guda,
She always seems to have such fun,
And is as patient as a Buddha!
Of all these hats, there's none that she
Has worn with more aplomb
Than that for which I love her most:
A truly amazing Mom.
My mother is without a doubt
My best and closest friend.
She's my hero, my guiding light,
The rock on which I depend.
Just as big as any hat,
Her heart sits on her sleeve
And it matches just as well
With all that she believes.
No task's too big, no hurt too small
To warrant her concern.
She gives her all to everything,
She leaves no stone unturned.
Yes, my Mom has always been
A perfect one-stop shop,
For questions answered, tasks achieved
Above and beyond the top.
She's also taught us all the things
That make life really count.
She trusted us and set us free
To settle our own accounts.
These lessons gave me more than I
Can possibly express.
By living through example
Mom showed us how to progress.
Because of her I have become
Stronger in every way.
Now I can only hope to give
My kids the same some day.
Mom, your act is tough to follow
You're truly hard to beat,
And after all you've given us,
I hope this is a treat.
So raise your glasses, here is it,
This party's quid pro quo,
Today the guest of honor's you
Cheers to the big six-oh!
Love,
Mikki
