A Bar Mitzvah Sample Toast
Dearest Daniel - as your parents, we couldn't
possibly be more proud of a son than we are of you,
today. And that's a tall order, because we're proud
of you -- and all that you are -- EVERYDAY. In
short, from our viewpoint, you have always been a
"good boy."
But today, dear son, your intelligence, your
sensitivity, your eloquence, your devotion to
family, your respect for tradition, your loving
nature - all these qualities and traits, so
important in life, shine even brighter than ever.
Son, we see such wonderful qualities in you. The
easy way in which you make good friends, and ARE a
good friend over the long term. How you take your
schoolwork seriously and responsibly, not only
getting excellent grades but taking the time to
really learn in the process. And maybe most
important of all, in terms of determining character,
the way you stand tall and protect your brothers,
Ilan and Idan. It makes our hearts sing, Daniel, and
we want you and everyone here to know exactly how we
feel.
We sincerely thank all of our family and friends and
fellow congregants who joined us here today, to
witness and celebrate the Bar Mitzvah of Daniel.
This is indeed a joyous and emotional occasion for
our family. Daniel, you spoke so beautifully about
the Fifth Commandment, Thou shalt honor thy father
and thy mother as the Lord commandeth thee.
Believe us when we say that Daniel honors us in
every way imaginable. And we couldn't be prouder or
more filled with love, admiration and respect for
this most worthy young man.
Indeed, as we said right up front, Daniel has always
been a "good boy." But now, we realize, that's no
longer the case. As of today, as a Bar Mitzvah, our
son has ascended to that place beyond boyhood. And
we have no doubt that going forward, into a life
which we hope and pray will be filled with
satisfaction and joy and health and peace, Daniel,
will always be a good man.
We love you, dear son. With all our heart and all
our soul.
Love
Mom and Dad
