Poems To Go - Creating Memorable Poems, Speeches, and Toasts for Every Occasion!

Sometimes, an occasion calls for a more extensive commentary. Like a bar mitzvah speech. Or a candle-lighting poem. A father's words at his child's Bar or Bat Mitzvah can be very touching. An occasion such as this calls for a custom speech or toast from Poems To Go.

Give us the information or background that paints a picture (our questionnaire makes it all quick and easy) and we'll deliver a speech, a toast or a commentary that puts your words in a golden light - and will be remembered by all who hear it for a long time to come.

Here's an example of a bar mitzvah speech from a grandparent to his grandson. Geoffrey was thrilled,"Hi Amy, This is great...Thank you so much for helping us put this together for Ryans Grandmother. I know it will mean alot to him. Best, Geoffrey"

Poems To Go - Creating Memorable Poems, Speeches, and Toasts for Every Occasion!

A Bar Mitzvah Speech Example

According to Jewish law, today, Ryan Cutler, is a man. According to his character, Ryan has been a man for a long, long time, and I couldn't be prouder -- or more filled with love and respect for this extraordinary guy.

When the subject is Ryan Cutler, believe me: I know what I'm talking about. He's my grandson, my FIRST grandson, and I'm happy to report that from the age of 1 to 6 -- that's HIS age, not mine -- I spent parts of every single day with him. And I have to say that those were among the very best days of my entire life.

Any way you look at him, Ryan is a loving, considerate, happy, thoughtful, intelligent young man. He always thinks of others first and his heart is good as gold. His hugs and kisses -- and I ALWAYS get hugs and kisses from him -- put me on top of the world.

Anybody who knows Ryan says the same thing: What a nice and thoughtful young man, they say. Those words are like music to his grandpa's ears, And they're quite a testament to his mom and dad and the job they've done in raising him.

I'll never forget the time I went to school to pick him up. He was in the first grade. I found out that the school principal wanted to see me. As I walked to this gentleman's office I remember being surprised, wondering just what kind of trouble Ryan had gotten himself into. I should have known better. After all, this was RYAN I was thinking about. Sure enough, the principal explained everything. As it turned out, Ryan wasn't in trouble at all. Far from it. In fact, the principal called me in so he could lavish praise on my grandson.

He told me that on that very day one of the kids in class, a real bully type, had been picking on another kid without mercy. Kids do that, of course. But kids don't often do what Ryan did. He defended the boy who was being picked on, and that was good. But the WAY he did it was even better. He REASONED with the bully, and he compelled him to stop misbehaving and to shake hands with the fellow whom he had been tormenting. The principal and Ryan's teacher both said that Ryan's actions were most unusual -- and mighty impressive. Ryan, who was a FIRST grader, remember, merely said that it was the right thing to do -- so he did it.

I tell you, Ryan's an athlete. A great swimmer and a strong cross country runner. But he won't run away from problems. He'll deal with them, better. And he'll find solutions for them. THAT'S character. And that's my grandson.

This is an altogether wondrous day. Perfect in so many ways. My only wish would be for Ryan's grandpa Shep, his great uncle Syd and his great aunt Molly to be here with us -- to enjoy this occasion, to celebrate in all that this fabulous young man has become…and to look with joy upon him as he continues to grow in stature in every conceivable way.

Ryan, son, brother, friend, grandson…on the one hand today is an extraordinary day. The day of your Bar Mitzvah, of your becoming a man according to our Jewish faith. But on the other hand, it's just a day like any other…and every other. Because you warm my heart…and you fill me up with love.

Love,

Grandpa
