Anniversary Poems for Friends - An Example

Dear Sandy and Dick,

I've written this poem,
For a couple so slick,
They're fifty years married,
That's Sandy and Dick.

Back in Mark Keppel high school,
In the fifties let's say,
That first kiss, in the snow,
Brought us all here today.

And on Valentine's day,
Later in fifty seven,
These lovely pair wed,
It was a match made in heaven.

That was the day,
They'll remember so well.
When they both took their vows,
In the great Dunes Hotel.

I'm best friends with Sandy,
What more can be said?
From our days in elementary,
At Ynez, first grade.

There's no secrets between us,
This friendship won't bust.
Our relationship's based on,
One hundred percent trust.

We've a group of good friends,
Who don't like to stay grounded.
Through our interest in travel,
The Roadrunners were founded.

At times when those road trips,
Seemed terribly long,
“The Little Drunk Mouse”
Was our life saving song.

We went parasailing,
On one of our cruises,
But don't land on a horse,
Poor Dick's still got the bruises.

And while up in the air,
Yes, I swear it's no tale,
Sandy looked down,
And she spotted a whale!!

Old kids and young kids,
There's dozens, trust me,
Out in Lake Havasu there,
They've taught how to ski.

As all good friends do,
We all love a good lark,
That's the outcome of parties,
Out at Cedarpines Park.

With this fun loving couple,
The joy never ends,
Barbecues and parties,
For family and friends.

They have two great children,
With the very same spark,
Kim is their baby,
While the eldest is Mark.

Now, if I don't mention two others,
I'll regret it the rest of my life,
Kim picked a great husband in Tom,
And Kelly's Mark's beautiful wife.

Of course their two kids
Aren't the end of the story,
Cos' their grand kids are Richie,
And Krystal and Kory.

With her blond hair and blue eyes,
Sandy looks pretty flash,
Tricky Dicky's so handsome
With his well trimmed mustache.

One other thing,
Before this rhyme has ended,
Try Sandy's margaritas,
They're really quite splendid.

Even out in the car park,
So no one is waiting,
Dick' generator
Is used for Tailgating.

But let me just finish,
Before there's a protest,
With friends like you pair,
We are truly all blessed.

Love,

Marilyn and Scotty
