70th Birthday Poems - An Example
Michelle Braunstein's big day,
She's seventy years young now.
What a classic nurse and mom,
Do we love her? I say and how!
Cobb Creek in Hibbing, Minnesota,
Was special back in our day.
The Motherways, Reynolds and Braunsteins
Made it fun in every way.
The women all met for coffee
And smoked their cigarettes.
They talked and laughed for hours,
As good as good ever gets.
Michelle was a hoot for sure,
She was my mom's dear friend.
I could go to her house and say "Hey, Mrs. B.,"
The food and the gossip wouldn't end.
Mrs. B was one great baker,
Her chocolate chip cookies and O'Henry Bars
Would send one to heavens of good taste,
Delicious, like seeing bright stars.
She was always protecting her children,
Mothering was her special role.
Those Braunstein kids were made to stand clear
Of the Twin Lakes swimming hole.
Mrs B was always all heart,
You could cry on her shoulder all day.
She listened real good, and she understood,
Compassion is always her way.
Her couch was a really big deal,
If you made it there you were alright.
On the Braunstein couch, sitting upstairs,
Life was truly, for sure, out of sight.
Mrs. B. is a master at cooking,
She sews, she bakes, she draws.
Her excellence just knows of no boundaries,
Her goodness knows nothing of pause.
When my mom died in '99
Mrs. B was there all the way,
Even now she still goes to adoration,
Her compassion, it shows every day.
And funny? I tell you about Mrs. B.,
She's truly, I'm laughing, a stitch.
She made the news once at Chippendales,
Pulled it off, open armed, without a hitch.
She loves her dear, sweet children,
Pat, Annie and those greatest twins.
One boy, 3 girls, all great,
For Mrs. B., family's always win-win!
She's the seventh child of the seventh child,
Born Michelle Zezel, one of ten kids.
She grew up in Brooklyn, in Hibbing,
Magic was always in her midst.
Life and love with husband Leroy,
The pleasures of her family rule.
Mrs. B., you're just so incredible,
Truly extraordinary…and cool.
My surrogate mom, that is you,
You've always been our wonder, yes.
With love and sweet birthday wishes,
Mrs. B., you are simply the best.
Love,
Patti, Carolyn, Tim, Chris and Erin
