5th Year Anniversary Poems - An Example
Dear Gregory,
Some things upon this planet
Are ambiguous and drear
But others are so crystalline
Like this - so perfectly clear.
Angela, for Gregory
Cherishes their life
And most of all she's honored
To live it as his wife.
Now they joyfully observe
An occasion so sublime
Their five year anniversary
All with reason, all with rhyme.
Funny thing about it
Is how they got in sync
Spent years in School at Florissant
But never made a link.
That all changed at oceanside
When Angela visited her sister
Enjoying California's sunny climes
She got called by a certain Mister.
It was Gregory of all people
Asking for a date
He met up with Angela's bro-in-law
And could no longer wait.
Angela remembered him
And could barely keep her calms
While he drove the three and a half hours
That it took from Twenty-nine Palms.
They talked and rode and had a blast
She thanked him, yes, a bunch
For motorcycle ridin'
And for Ruby's and that lunch.
The talked of things, of this and that
Of days and friends of old
They didn't stop throughout her stay
Like discoverin' pure gold.
But vacations, like all things, must end
And roamers stop their roam
'Twas time for Angela to head back east
'Twas time to travel home.
Gregory telephoned every day
For both it was exquisite
Then he said the magic words,
"I'd like to come and visit!"
She met him at the airport
On a morning just like heaven
So bright, awake and all alert
While the clock said only seven.
At Denny's they feasted on pure love
No need to toy or flirt
He even gave her their first gift
A black Armani shirt.
The visit, it was wonderful
For both it was the best
But she'd stay in St. Louis
While he had headed back west.
So before he left he spoke his mind
This young man never tarried
'Angela," he said with love
'Would you like to, hmmm, GET MARRIED?"
She burst with joy and filled her heart
With love for this guy so dear
They made their plans with spirit, yes
And got their life in gear.
It happened in Las Vegas
He the husband, she the wife
At Little White Chapel Drive-Through
They vowed to share a life.
And since then life has been a ball
Of heartfelt satisfaction
He loves the way she talks in her sleep
She loves his Michael Jackson.
For now it's just the two of them
And Calley, let us say,
But someday soon, a family
Will surely make its way.
So Bigboy know that you are loved
By one who's ever true
With happiness unbridled
From your darling wife, your Boo.
