50th Birthday Toasts - Example

Our dear Mom, Susan Schwartz,
Wife to Keith, our Dad,
At 50 – a birthday
For the best Mom you ever had.

She’s just so truly special,
Unique in every way.
Warm and sweet and loving
Like sunshine every day.

She’s fab-o in the kitchen,
Makes the world’s best pancakes.
A Bastard County dervish
Who does whatever it takes.

Dad knows ‘bout his wife,
He doesn’t speak in codes.
Of Mom, he says with love,
She’s always “running the roads.”

She has so much to do in town,
Everywhere she’s seen.
Of course that means at home
Our house is…somewhat clean.

A certain sigh will tell it all,
It’s neither prim nor sappy.
“This house is clean enough to be healthy,
And dirty enough to be happy.”

That’s Mom’s way and we love it,
She’s been our source of joy.
Just ask her children ‘bout her,
We’ve got the goods, oh boy!

Like how Mom kept us in line
And how we had to cope.
One bad word for anyone
And we’d get that Ivory Soap!

Meanwhile Mom is bookish,
Reads in bed – she’s so bright!
‘Course she sleeps on her (or dad’s) glasses,
And rarely turns off the light.

And how she loves to travel,
Books trips and then tells dad.
Reluctantly he goes,
But underneath? He’s glad.

They just got back from Hong Kong,
And once, in Lyon France, you see.
Mom quaffed too much French vin
And then she hugged a tree.

Back home she piles newspapers
Which she swears she’s gonna read.
The editorials alone’ll take 10 years
It’s an ambitious deed.

Otherwise Mom’s in stitches
With the Hookers, that’s her clique.
They’re into rugs and quilts and stuff,
Such fun, they really tick!

Dear mom, your 3 kids love you,
And grandkids who number eight.
We want to say just one thing:
In all ways you are great.

Have the birthday of your dreams
Greatest mother, gram and wife.
From all of us to you with love
And wishes for more joys in life.

Your Children
