40th Birthday Speech - An Example
What a marvelous day, and what a marvelous occasion. The 40th birthday of my husband and my truest, bluest, dearest friend, Scott David Brooks.
Scott is, in a word, wonderful. A great father to four great kids: George, Harry, Ida and Rose. And now, thanks to George and Joyce, a grandfather to the adorable trio whom we lovingly know as Joanne, Jill and Jan.
In so many ways, life with Scott has been an extraordinary adventure. Literally, we've travelled to Europe and China. We seen the Great Wall, scuba dived in Fiji -- well
HE scuba dived
I freaked out -- and camped our way from Mt. Zion to the Grand Canyon. It has all been marvelous.
Scott is really a fabulous guy. He loves to talk and he'll stop and chat with anyone, at any time. He embroiders and embellishes more stories than anyone I know. It's as much a part of him as that ledge that runs across his eyes -- the one on which he so can so gracefully balance a spoon.
An avowed bird-watcher, a super sailor and the best husband in the world. He stirs my heart in every way and while I always loved him, somehow I love him even more as the years go by.
Scott, from all of us, wishes for a very happy 40th birthday -- and many more in good health, with lots of joy, peace of mind and boundless love. Truly, you mean the world to me.
Love,
Betty
