A Silver Anniversary Poem Example
Dear Mom and Larry,
Dear old Larry, dear old Mom,
Goodness sakes alive.
If indeed I’m on the mark
You’re married…twenty-five!!?????!
A quarter century you’re as one,
It’s quite a case to plead.
Just calm, cool Larry and, of course,
His sweetheart, Tillie Ten-Speed.
They’ve had their share of troubles,
They’ve had their share of whirls.
That’s how it’s gotta be
In a house with, yep, three girls!
‘Course Mom’s in love with Elvis,
Larry’s into Dale Earnhart.
They both go big for Vegas,
That’s where their really big fun starts.
Larry’s into golfing,
Mom plants up in her yards.
And when we’re all together
We laugh and we play cards.
For Larry life is easy,
He takes it nice and slow.
"Just calm down" he’ll say
To Mom who’s always on the go.
They love their time together,
It's really so much fun.
Lots of joy in all they do,
And laughter by the ton.
He was right for her,
She was right for him.
Together all was right for us,
Sophie, Terry and Kim.
They needed something special,
They needed someone new.
They found it in each other,
And built a life for two.
And we’re sure grateful for it,
‘Cause they’ve been one since then.
Twenty-five years together
And they’d do it all again.
So now they do the yard work,
And spend delightful time,
So happy just together,
Yes, life can be sublime.
They have a lot of happiness
With our large family.
Including Jacob, Aaron, Kurt
Nick, Dylan and, yes, Chelsey!
We really feel in Larry
Mom couldn’t have picked one better.
He’s just a great old guy
Who’s perfect to the letter.
So on their anniversary
A day that’s truly fine,
Larry’ll raise his Miller Lite
And Mom’ll quaff her wine.
And all we have to add,
To you both on your big day,
Is thanks for all you mean to us
In every single way!
