21st Birthday Poem Example
For Steed
We're all gathered here today,
For a special time indeed,
Our boy has just turned twenty one,
So happy birthday Steed.
Twenty one years back in time,
He even called the tune,
He just got fed up waiting,
And was born a month too soon.
Even from an early age,
You really were so bright,
Captain Possum brought the tears on,
Because you knew it meant night night.
Moving on to four years old,
I must admit it was so funny,
When your father, just to please you,
Dressed himself up as a bunny.
But that rabbit theme was catching,
Oh, what is it about men??
Because Brogga bit the bullet,
And he dressed the same for Ben.
Then a few years later
I will not forget that day,
When you swallowed a watch battery,
And were rushed for an X-ray.
Well, we waited for that battery.
When it showed up I was so glad,
Though the checking for its 'appearance'
I must admit, I left to Dad.
Such a child you were way back then,
With the most demanding brain,
Pull everything in sight to pieces,
But not assemble them again.
We thought you'd be a Chemist,
If you ever took the notion.,
Cos' from the contents of our bathroom,
You could make the weirdest potion.
Now in your teenage years,
Was when you hit that fashion mood.
With your baggy jeans with loops on
You were just the coolest dude.
Though, cool would not be quite the term
On that shopping trip to town,
When your jeans caught on the clothes rack,
And brought the whole lot crashing down.
We've watched you go through skateboards,
And my tum would go in cramps,
When I would see you out performing,
Doing grinds and jumping ramps.
And now its sometimes fishing,
But as each new day is dawning,
We don't know if you are gonna
Play some soccer or go prawning.
And when it comes to soccer,
Now, you might call me an old fool,
But I reckon that our boy's
The hottest thing since Harry Kewell.
Now I'm sure you're glad it's over,
But there's one last thing I'll say,
Happy Birthday son we love you,
Now go enjoy your special day.
Love,
Mom and Dad
